HEATWISE EASTER 400

APRIL 16th & 17th 2022

Heat Wise White Cropped.jpg

While our beloved clay target shooting sports continue to face various political and economic challenges, UTNZ Inc. continues to forge into the future, framing our series of multi discipline shotgun events in pure positivity, with yet another oversubscribed entry list at our Easter event in Timaru. Once again, a few Covid withdrawals gave a pass to those on the waiting list, and the scene was set for another weekend of everything that is good with clay target competitions.

UTNZ Inc is constantly looking to evolve in meeting the needs and desires of it’s cherished audience of participants, so this year at Timaru we added another event to the card. FITASC Trap1 (practically the same as Continental) was determined to be an ideal fit in offering our shooters more, and fit’s with the UTNZ Inc. philosophy of promoting clay target shooting as a whole in NZ. UTNZ Inc. events consisting of FITASC UT coupled with Compak and now Trap1 promote all the values that UTNZ Inc. holds important. Fun, enjoyment of the game, camaraderie, and plenty of banter in addition to the National Series competition and Teams selection, makes for a great atmosphere.

Our Handicap system continues to deliver exciting results, pitching new comers against our international level shooters for arguably the biggest prize pool in NZ clay shooting. If you're wondering how the system works, it is based on allocating targets in credit to a shooter, dependant on their rule off percentages, similar to the American Skeet handicap system. Have a look on our website for full rules and procedures for all UTNZ Inc. disciplines.

Sincere thanks to all those shooters who chose to allocate their precious time and funds to joining us at these events. It is all thanks to the competitors that we have a successful series. Thank you very much to the South Island Sporting Clay Shooters Inc. in addition to Timaru CTC for making the Easter event possible. SISCS Inc. provide UTNZ Inc with valuable time and equipment to enable us to run Compak in the South Island, and of course Timaru CTC continue to welcome UTNZ Inc. down south with open arms, as they have done since our inaugural series in 2019.

Thank you to our series sponsors Laporte, Kilwell, Fiocchi NZ for their unwavering support of the Series for another year in 2022. A huge thanks and acknowledgement to our Timaru Easter event sponsor Heatwise.  All of this support allowed us to recognise our winners and place-getters with yet another big prize pool.
